Demi is the heart and soul of our farm — the very first animal to arrive and the one who started it all. Born in 2006, this spirited mini Shetland pony stood only 2½ feet tall but carried a personality far larger than her size. Lovingly purchased by our four children, who saved $200 in a jar filled with coins, and dollar bills, Demi’s arrival marked the beginning of our family’s farm sanctuary. From the moment she stepped off the truck, she captured everyone’s hearts–especially our two-year-old son, who stood eye-to-eye with her that day.

She needs special care for a condition called Cushings Disease. Medication, first cut hay and a dry paddock help control her sugar intake. True to her breed, Demi is spunky, feisty, and full of life. Yet she’s also incredibly affectionate, greeting her family and visitors alike with a cheerful whinny and a soft nuzzle. Today, Demi remains a beloved member of our farm family–a gentle reminder of humble beginnings, hard work, and the joy that comes from caring for animals you love.
